University of Oregon football team owner Phil Knight is distraught after back to back losses to the Oregon State Beavers and the 0-3 California Golden Bears. Knight is so angry he is threatening to sell the team. In an exclusive Leuterers interview Knight said, “I’m not getting the bang for my buck anymore. This program has really slipped. I’m considering putting the whole thing up for sale.”
Knight went on to say, “If these guys lose to the Huskies next week, it’s over. I’m selling the team. No more fancy uniforms. The boys will have to go back to the Dan Fouts/Bobby Moore uniforms. Remember those? They looked like the prison uniforms from the Longest Yard.”
Knight said he’ll keep his basketball franchise in Eugene for the time being saying, “If they start losing they’ll all be playing for Clackamas Junior College before the season is over.”
