South Carolina Republican Senator Lindsey Graham was injured Friday and went to the Nurse’s Office for treatment. Nurse Betty Jarvis, a thirty two year veteran in the Capitol Nurse’s Office, treated Graham for mild scrapes and bruises. She rolled up his pants, sprayed Bactine on his knee, and attempted to put a Superman band-aid on Graham’s wound.
According to Nurse Jarvis, Graham resisted and said, “I don’t want a Superman band-aid, he’s a liberal.”
Nurse Jarvis said to a Leuterers reporter, “I told the senator not to fret about it. I reminded him Superman worked for Perry White at the Daily Planet and it was the most conservative paper in the country. Then I told him, Heck, Perry White was a staunch supporter of Joseph McCarthy right up to the end.”
According to Nurse Jarvis, Graham took comfort in that news and accepted the Superman band-aid. He then sat in the lobby and caught up on Highlights For Children. The staff gave him a popsicle for being such a brave patient.
